Fitness Advice Is Full of Crap… and That’s a Good Thing

A friend said this during a conversation about finance, but I couldn’t stop thinking about how much it applies to health and fitness:

“The grass is always greener when it’s fertilised with crap.”

And look, the health and fitness industry? It’s full of crap.
Advice is everywhere—every influencer, every program, every quick fix promising the ultimate result.
Yes, I get the irony: I’m here giving advice on social media too. But stay with me.

Here’s the difference:
In finance, bad advice can wreck your bank account.
In health? Even the "crappy" advice—most of it still encourages you to move your body and eat better.
And that will help you live a longer, healthier, happier life.

No one is seriously out here saying:

“Sit on the couch all day, eat junk, and watch Netflix—that’s the path to peak health.”

So while everyone’s offering their own spin—HIIT vs. Pilates, low carb vs. plant-based—the message underneath is the same:
Move your body. Eat real food. Avoid ultra-processed junk.

That’s it.
 Simple. Effective. Universal.

The trick?
Find the version of that advice—the “crap”—that works for you.
Because consistency beats perfection every time.

What is up, everybody? This quote came from a friend as we're talking about finance, investing, all that sort of stuff. But I think is quite is way more applicable to the health and fitness industry. And the quote was the grass is always greener when it's fertilize of crap. And again, fitness industry is full of crap these days. There's all this advice out there.

And yes, here I am giving you a video on social media about advice and what advice take. And that's not missed on me, but just bear with me. Again, it's all it's there's so much crap out there. But the thing is the difference between, I guess, the health and fitness industry and the finance industry, all the crap in the health and fitness industry is going to help you live a long, healthy, happy life.

00;00;46;20 - 00;01;07;24

But there's no advice out there or no one's giving the advice of just sit on the couch all day, eat your favorite cookies, and watch Netflix and that's all you need to do to live a long, healthy, happy life. No one's giving that advice, but it doesn't matter what workout you're doing, what style it. No matter how you move your body, it's going to help you live a long, healthy, happy life.

00;01;08;02 - 00;01;26;08

So although it's all there is a lot of crap out there, you've just got to find the crap that works for you that you're going to stick with and keep moving your body regularly. But again, it doesn't matter. Like everybody's saying, move your body. It's just everybody's saying it in a little bit of a different way. And yes, it's even worse with nutrition and what to eat.

00;01;26;08 - 00;01;51;18

But if you look, if you zoom out and take a bigger picture of the whole nutrition realm, everybody's just saying, eat healthy, don't eat processed crap. Like simple. It's just simple things like everybody saying that. So although again, everybody puts their own little spin on it. If you just eat healthy diet processed foods like you're going to live a long, healthy, happy life.

00;01;51;23 - 00;02;02;18

So again, yes, there's a lot of crap out there, but all that crap is going to help you grow into a grain field and live a long, healthy, happy life. You've just got to find what works for you.
